“This design was never meant to happen.
I shared a photo of a half-finished, original Toad™ slider on Facebook post (just as a sort of "placeholder" image because I was talking about something  else in that post).
But then, I received message after message ...and email after email ...from people wanting (no, DEMANDING) I make this new "Toad X". The name came about because the design looked like it had an "X" shape on top.
The problem:
I could not sell the half-finished Toad™ slider I posted because, well, it was half-finished (very crude, rough machining, etc.).
So, understanding that people liked both the stepped linesand the "X" shape on the design ...I went back and designed this ToadX™ from scratch.
The result is something that's NEW ...but also still has the original Toad™ look (which isn't a bad thing because the original Toad™ is the world's most popular slider).

Screw-In Plates

After epoxy-fitting the slider plates for more than 8 months... I decided it was time to screw them in.

I will openly admit to you right now that I don't think it looks as good with the screws. It's true.

But the sheer number of benefits to screw-in plates vastly outweigh the downside of aesthetics.

We use two custom-made, 2-56 Thread Grade 5 Titanium machine screws to attached each plate. We do not use any sort of epoxy or thread-locker for the screws because (from experience) the "binding" of the titanium threads ensure they do not come loose themselves.

These screws use a standard "T8" Torx head.
